Chickens are an incredible species that many people are fortunate enough to have. They lay eggs and can also provide meat, but they are so much more than that. Every chicken has its personality and add so much joy to our lives. There are over 50 recognized breeds of chickens, from puffy cheeks to booted legs, there is a chicken for everyone!
Here at the Flowing Milk and Honey Farm, we strive to produce happy, healthy chickens that are raised as naturally as possible. All of our chickens’ free range around our 45 acre farm together. We put up a certain breed into a coop when we decide to hatch some eggs from the said breed, but for the rest of the year all of our chickens forage together. They are all fed NON-GMO feed. We visit our chickens daily, so they are all socialized with humans and therefore friendly. Our hens are also fed calcium pebbles so that their eggs can be nice and hard. We take pride in our wonderful chickens and guarantee that you will be happy with our birds.
We currently breed White Ameraucanas, Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, Black Copper Marans, Cream Legbars, Salmon Favorolles, and Welsummers. Click on the chicken breed to read more about them and see pictures of our own flock. We also have a small flock of FMH Mix, which is a flock with a few purebreds and a mixed group of chickens from our purebred breeds. They are equivalent to a Barnyard Mix. We just thought to give ours a special name so that they are exclusive to our farm only. We also have a large flock of FMH Bantams, which is a group of mix breed bantams exclusive to our farm.
